Nissatech, our project partners, have been showcasing UPCAST through a series of events, demonstrating their latest technology in action.
The Boxing Punch Challenge is an innovative form of collaborative gamification where teams of 3-5 members compete to accumulate points based on their punching performance. Each participant punches a boxing bag for one minute, earning points based on the velocity, force, and power of their punches, as well as the type (cross, direct, uppercut) of each punch. The team with the highest total points wins. This exciting challenge is unique in its concept and, to our knowledge, there are no similar competitions globally.

Nissatech provides the AI-powered technology that detects punch types and calculates the necessary biomechanical parameters. To train AI models for accurate punch detection, high-quality data is needed from a diverse range of boxers to ensure the data is representative. However, the challenge lies in defining the quality of data collected from individual boxers and determining its corresponding value. With the development of UPCAST, particularly the Data Valuation PlugIn, we created a module that objectively evaluates the quality of collected data, enhancing its quality and reducing the overall cost of gathering it.
The Boxing Punch Challenge is structured as a league, with a new challenge held each month in different cities across Serbia. The first challenge of the year took place in Nis in January, drawing significant media attention, including coverage from the Serbian State Television (RTS):
